Vice President of the acoustic society of China
Dong Zhang, he was born in Jiangsu, China on January 1969. He received his Ph.D. from Nanjing University in 1995. He is a full professor in the School of Physics in Nanjing University from 2002, and the Vice Dean of the School of Physics from 2016. The School of Physics in Nanjing University was ranked number one in China in 2007 and 2012 by the Academic & Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education of China. He was the director of Institute of Acoustics at Nanjing University during 2012-2016. The Institute of Acoustics is a famous acoustic research institute at home and abroad, which was set up by Professor Wei Rong-jue in 1954. His fields of professional interest include Ultrasound contrast agent, High intensity focused ultrasound therapy and nonlinear acoustics in biomedicine. Until now, he has presided over more than 10 NSFC projects. He was the chair of the 2017 International Symposium of Therapeutic Ultrasound held in Nanjing, China. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed journal papers and international conference proceedings. He was awarded First and Secondary Prize of Scientific and Technological achievements from National Education Government of China in 2016 and 2007, and awarded Project of New Century Talent of China in 2006. He currently serves as the Vice President of the acoustic society of China, associated editor of Applied Acoustics, member of the editorial board of Acoustical Physics, member of the editorial board of Acta Acustica, member of the editorial board of Technical Acoustics, etc.
