Prof. WU Zonghan

Prof. WU Zong-han, born in November 1939 and graduated from the Southeast University (formerly known as Nanjing Institute of Technology) in 1961. Before his retirement in 2002, he has been working at the same school for 41 years.

He did part of his undergraduate study in the Department of Physics of Nanjing University from 1963 to 1964, and later at the Tokyo Institute of Technology from 1981 to 1983 as a state-sponsored visiting scholar, with the research direction in the dielectric material physics and devices. He was the director of the Institute of Applied Electrostatic of Southeast University from 1995 to 2003. He has been a visiting scholar at various universities abroad, including the Tokyo Institute of Technology(1986), the Sophia University(Japan)(1990, 1996) and the Poitiers University(France)(1987)with the research directions in liquid flow of charged, biological electrostatic, electret functional materials, LEED and electret electroacoustic devices and so on. He had attended and organized many international academic conferences. He has also been invited to universities in Taiwan(1994) and Hong Kong(1994) for conferences and academic exchanges.

He is on the Editorial Board of “Physics Bulletin", and he is a former member of the Electrostatic Professional Committee of Chinese Physical Society, the executive director of the Institute of Physics of Jiangsu Province, the Chairman of Electrostatic Professional Committee of the province and the associate editor of Journal of Transducer Technology. After his retirement, he has been working in the industry. He was the deputy general manager of Shenzhen Horn Audio Co., Ltd. which is one of the national high-tech enterprises. He is also the director of the Institute of Electroacoustic and technical advisor of Shenzhen Horn Audio Co., Ltd. He is the member of expert group of the electroacoustic branch of CECA. He has revised and finalized The Measurement Methods Of Microphone, General Specification Microphone and the other five national standards. He is also the technical advisor of Jiangsu Xingshun Electronics Company and Taizhou SEMITEC Sensor Electronics Company,etc.
