Mr. Christian Wingerath

Christian Wingerath, M.Sc., is Technical Director at DR. KURT MÜLLER GmbH & Co. KG (DKM) in Krefeld, Germany — one of the world's leading manufacturers of loudspeaker soft parts. Founded in 1922, DKM develops and produces cones, surrounds, spiders and dust caps in paper, fabrics, films, composites and sandwich constructions for loudspeaker manufacturers worldwide.

A materials scientist by training, he holds a B.Sc. in Materials Science from RWTH Aachen University and an M.Sc. in Materials Science from Loughborough University, UK. After engineering roles in product development in the United Kingdom and several years as an independent product-development consultant, he joined DKM in 2020 as a project engineer, became Head of Paper Technology in 2021, and has led the company's technical operations as Technical Director since December 2023.

In this role he is responsible for DKM's products and manufacturing processes, covering materials engineering, process development and the company's in-house measurement and characterization capabilities. A central focus of his work is the systematic connection between materials science and loudspeaker design: translating the manufacturing knowledge of a soft-parts producer into explicit, reproducible engineering methodology.
